Now in its seventh year, the Emerald Coast Chamber Music Festival brings world-class chamber music to the serene Gulf Coast. From mid-May through Memorial Day weekend, artist-faculty members and internationally recognized guest musicians perform intimate classical concerts at the beautiful Tyler Recital Hall on the Northwest Florida State College campus in Niceville. Best of all, admission is completely free.

The 2026 festival features works spanning centuries — from Debussy and Brahms to world premieres of new compositions. The Velox Quartett, the festival's cornerstone ensemble, performs alongside visiting virtuosos in a setting that feels a world away from the bustle of beach season. Saturday evening concerts begin at 7 PM on May 16, 23, and 30; a special Sunday matinee at 1:30 PM on May 31 showcases the student musicians of the Chamber Music Institute.

This is an ideal outing for culturally curious vacationers looking for something unique during their Destin or 30A getaway. Niceville is just 20 minutes from Destin's beaches, making it easy to pair an afternoon on the Gulf with an elegant evening of live classical music under the Florida sky.
